Regional Roadway Provides Relief for Ewa Beach
The long-awaited opening of the newest section of Kapolei Parkway is connecting communities from Haseko’s neighbors makai of Ocean Pointe all the way to Ewa Villages.
"Residents can now drop off their kids at school, go to the market, or visit friends without having to drive on Fort Weaver Road," said Sharene Saito Tam, Haseko's director of community relations and public affairs. "The result is an excellent example of what can happen when government and private businesses work together to ensure sustainable development, and when developers of master-planned communities work together to build solutions for our respective neighborhoods."
Because Haseko is committed to doing its part to make Ewa Beach a great place to live, work and play, the company understood the importance of expanding the $8.5 million roadway thru the heart of Ocean Pointe from one lane in each direction – as called for in the Ewa Highway Master Plan – to up to six lanes.
Once the City and State complete their portions of the parkway and North-South Road, drivers will be able to go all the way to a new freeway interchange next to the University of Hawaii’s West Oahu campus. Eventually, Kapolei Parkway will run all the way to Ko Olina.
