Hoakalei Marina Excavation Passes 60% Mark
The east basin of Hoakalei Marina is beginning to take shape.
Crews completed the west side basin this past summer, and have now excavated just over 60% of the waterway.
Construction of the channel entrance is expected to begin in 2008-2009.
Construction of the marina district will begin after that and take several years to complete. Once finished, it will feature a multi-lane boat launch ramp complex, pedestrian promenade, commercial office space, retail shops and restaurants.
